Bruce worked for the U.S. Customs Service from 1975 to 1987 as a senior attorney-advisor in the areas of classification, valuation, penalties, freedom of information and privacy, and entry.  During that time Bruce was the US Delegate to the Technical Committee on Customs Valuation of the Customs Cooperation Council (CCC) in Brussels and a member of the US delegation to the Committee on Customs Valuation of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in Geneva.

Since 1987 Bruce has practiced in the private sector, and advises clients on customs classification, valuation, marking, penalties, free trade agreements and other aspects of customs law.  Additionally, Bruce has developed expertise in other agency laws administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, including FDA, USDA, CPSC, EPA, intellectual property rights and others.

Finally, Bruce is the firm's primary contact with respect to advising clients on pending legislation and obtaining legislative remedies to import problems.
